VistaPro

VistaPro(tm) is a really neato program published by Virtual Reality Labs, Inc. I created these over Christmas break when I had a few spare moments. I've done a lot more than this, and it's not really particularly difficult to do them... These started as 840x600x16m BMPs because for this type of thing, you need all the resolution you can get and compression starts to make 'em look funny. But, in the interest of space (1.5 Meg each), etc, i've bumped them down to 640x~480x16m JPGs instead. See what you think. Most of these were rendered without trees because I was too impatient to wait; the sun in the background was an old GIF i dug up from somewhere that can magically be used as a background... cool stuff.

For more of this kind of stuff, talk to Straw, who made the awesome LerleyLand logo and the Oasys logo too. His take way more work and time and, sadly, look worlds better than mine too... *sigh*

A nice, simple landscape with trees and no sun visible.

This one is set on a lower "rendering rate" so you can see much much larger polygons than usual. Neat sun.

My attempt at making volcano-type things, or perhaps a scene from the beginning of time when the earth was going through molten convulsions. At any rate, the compression sorta removes all texture from the lava surface... trust me, it looks neat.

A nice sort of "high mountain sunset" type of thing.

I was going for the shadowing effect here... see if you can imagine where the sun would be as if you hadn't seen the same background image 4 times on this page already.

Another run-of-the-mill landscape sunset.
